First Tip

Seeing Your GIF, JPG, and BMP files without double clicking and opening the associated program; such as Microsoft Paint.

Set ‘Windows Explorer’ to View as a Web page.

This is done in windows 98 by pointing and clicking on ‘View’ on the ‘Windows Explorer’ top tool bar. In the drop down Menu select Web Page.

When Windows Explorer is set to web page view; the highlighted file will be shown as a thumb view in the lower left hand corner of the windows explorer.

Get IE Zoomer Link: PC Magazine's IE Zoomer – Tweak images before saving as wallpaper. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT

Description
The Web is full of graphic images. Some are simply nice to look at, others convey important information. Internet Explorer has a built-in facility for saving images as wallpaper, but the feature includes no options. It simply saves the unmodified image as centered wallpaper. IE Zoomer lets you stretch, rotate, and otherwise modify the image before saving it as wallpaper, and you can either center or tile the image. It also lets you enlarge small images for a better look while surfing the Web--for example, the small pictures of items for sale at shopping sites. Microsoft's IE Power Toys (renamed Web Accessories in Internet Explorer 5.0) also offers a zoom-in option, but it doesn't maintain the aspect ratio and the enlarged image is jaggy. PC Magazine's IE Zoomer maintains the aspect ratio, and uses resampling technology to improve the appearance of the enlarged image. Source code is included. Note: PC Magazine programs are copyrighted and cannot be redistributed, whether modified or unmodified. Use is subject to the terms and conditions of the license agreement distributed with the programs.  Description is from Zdnet an enclosed in quotes.

Now that you have Zoomer Installed you will notice that placing your mouse over pictures and right clicking your mouse will give you some options to zoom in and zoom out While viewing INTERNET WEB PAGES with your Browser.(Internet Explorer)

Tip TWO

Putting View with IE Zoomer as a Right Click Option While using Windows Explorer.

This allows you to right click that highlighted file we were talking about in First Tip and open it in IE Zoomer for some minor editing. Again, this avoids opening the file in the more complex image programs that your file extensions (gif, jpg, jpeg and bmt) are associated to.

OK, we need a helper program called Xteq X-Setup.

It is at http://www.xteq.com/

We need products section and select x-setup. “Xteq X-Setup 6.2 - The ultimate tool for Black Belt system tuning”

The above site info is provided incase this direct link doesn’t work..

Link:

Download Xteq X-Setup (Full Install)

I use the x-setup default UI (user interface). I never used this program’s wizards. When the default is used the program opens a window with the familar little yellow file folder icons. You can go ahead and close the help window. The version I am using is 6.1.

Select or open the ‘Appearance folder’ then open the sub folder named ‘Files and Folders’ and open another sub folder called ‘ANY FILE’ and Select the “any file user defined context menu”.

The right hand side of this window will show some fields to fill in. In the name field I used the words “view with zoomer”. You can use your choice of words here. As the description x-setup provides below we place Iezoomer.exe  "%1"on the command field. Click Apply Changes and answer yes to the next questions.

Now, when you have a GIF, JPG, and BMP file highlighted in Windows Explorer you can view a thumb as describe in ‘First TIP’ and you want to see it, just right click it and select ‘view with zoomer’. Note: If you typed the word zoom in the name field above that is the option you will read when you right click the highlighted file.
