Hamburger Dip

This recipe is really easy and nice for football Sundays during the Winter. It's simple and can easily be adjusted according to your taste (for example, by adding the jalapeno). I can think of half a dozen garnishes that would work well with it too!

2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
pinch of salt
2-8 ounce cans tomato sauce
1/2 c. catsup
1 1/2 t. dry oregano
2-8 ounce packages cream cheese, cubed
2/3 c. parmesan cheese
1 t. chili powder

In skillet, brown ground beef with onion. Drain and pour into crock pot. Add garlic, salt, tomato sauce, catsup, oregano, cream cheese, parmesan and chili powder. Set crock pot on low for 1.5-2 hours. Stir and serve with french bread or tortilla chips. For a spicier dip, add 1 c. chopped jalapeno pepper.
